In a medium sauce pan add water, orange juice, spices, and sugar. Cook on medium heat and boil for 6 minutes.
Add 1 bag of 12 ounce fresh cranberries, stir and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be sure to watch it so it doesn’t boil over. When the sauce thickens and the cranberries start to pop you will know its time to remove from heat.
Transfer cranberry sauce to a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Once refrigerated, give the sauce and stir, top with zest and serve at room temperature.
