Recipe: Tim’s Thankful Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is a tradition and often a center piece on family tables in autumn.  Homemade cranberry sauce is packed with flavor and simple to make.  Once one makes their own its hard to go back to the canned stuff. In this recipe I used an array of warming spices and citrus which helped  brighten and balance this beloved bitter fruit. I hope this recipe makes it on your family’s thanksgiving table. I am thankful to be able to provide recipes like this and more.

Tim's Thankful Cranberry Sauce
A simple, easy to make cranberry sauce thats super delicious and full of flavor.
  1. In a medium sauce pan add water, orange juice, spices, and sugar. Cook on medium heat and boil for 6 minutes.
  2. Add 1 bag of 12 ounce fresh cranberries, stir and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be sure to watch it so it doesn’t boil over. When the sauce thickens and the cranberries start to pop you will know its time to remove from heat.
  3. Transfer cranberry sauce to a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Once refrigerated, give the sauce and stir, top with zest and serve at room temperature.
